Lake Sugema Wildlife Management Area is approximately 4 miles southwest of
Keosauqua and on the Southern Iowa Drift Plain. Geum vemum is infrequent
to locally common in a young forest (south of an arm of Lake Sugema) in what
may be a former pasture. The plants have buds, flowers and fruits. Petals are
yellow. Geum vemum is associated with Clavtonia virainica. Geum
canadense. Parthenocissus auinauefolia and Svmphoricarpos orbiculatus.
Geum vemum is more common in mowed paths north of the forest.
