sand and soil fill in the Spartina marsh just N of
where the river is crossed by Hwy 17 (at the inter-
section of Hwy 61).
Abundant at edges of standing puddles, with 3-16
fertile culms per plant. Culms sticky.- resinous.
Plant very fragrant like new mown hay. Roots orange.
Size of colony has increased since first collected
in 1975 (MacD. #1473). Assoc, with C. polystachyos,
C. esculentus, and Daubentonia.
