Rolling live oak woodland/grassland in sandy soil, sandstone and quartz rocks on slopes, with Quercus fusiformis, Q. stellata, Diospyros texana, Prosopis glandulosa, and Mimosa borealis predominating. Fairly common on rocky, sandy slopes. Flowers yellow with streaks of red/orange. Lat. 30° 52' 20" N, Long. 99° 2' 58" W. 1640 feet elev. David M.
