    Near Chinese tallow and wild cherry trees. Four in group on a grassy lawn.

  • Description

    Pileus 8-9 cm broad, plano-convex, glabrous, soft, warts apparently washed off by rain, margin appendiculate, white, some pinkish; context white, odor nauseous, 6 mm thick on disk, spongy soft; lamellae free, close, 6-7 mm broad, acute, slightly rough edges, creamy in age, lamellulae not easily distinguished since partly dry at margin; stipe 17-22 cm. long, 10-15 mm at apex, equal until elongated bulbous base, solid, becoming cavernous, white, covered with felt like scales from around base (volva material) to upper part of stipe, base is partly rooting, fleshy-fibrous; annulus apical, felty, somewhat cream.
