Dr, W* A* Ifurrill

Dear Dr* Murrill:
&r* Siaall, who might possibly name your
specimen of Crataegus, is now in Florida or
Louisiana* His assistant* Mr* Alexander, thinks
that your tree comes nearest to C. uniflora« hut you
say it is different* Possibly it is new, but Sargent
has gone to his reward and Eggleston does not find
time to study the genus any more, so, if you can
distinguish it from £. uniflora, why not- describe it
yourself?
iours cordially,	.
