PLANTS OF THE CALIFORNIA ISLANDS Ranunculaceae Ranunculus californicus Benth. Perennial to 2 feet high and 2.5 feet across; flowers yellow. Santa Barbara County: Santa Cruz Island. SSW of Christy Ranch, on S side of canyon immediately S of bunkhouse. Scattered; N-facing grassy slope. Elevation: 150 feet. Associated species: Baccharis pilularis, Atriplex semibaccata, Lessingia filaginifolia, Isocoma menziesii, Foeniculum vulgare, Gnaphalium luleo-album, G. purpureum, Sanícula arguta, Hypochaeris glabra, Eriophyllum confertiflorum, Rumex crispus, Dodecatheon clevelandii, Sisyrinchium bellum, Juncus bufonius, Hordeum murinum, Bromus hordeaceus, Vulpia my uros.
