Pócs & H. Streimann 9960/L (holotype: CANB, isotypes EGR, CANB, NSW, BRI, G). Epiphyl- lous in subtropical rain forest formed by the endemic, 50-60 m tall Syncarpia hillii - ‘satinay’ (Myrtaceae). It grows together with Cololejeunea tenella Benedix, Co- lolejeunea heinari sp.n., Cololejeunea lanciloba Stepbu, Cololejeunea vidliana Tixier, Colura queenslandica B. M. Thiers, Leptolejeunea sp. and Siphomolejeunea elegantissima (Steph.) Grolle. It differs from Cololejeunea fioccosa (Lehm. & Lindenb. in Lehm.) Schiffn., Consp. Hepat. The vitta-like part of the lobe is not sharply delimited and not composed of real ocelli, only of chloro- phyilose cells, which are larger but show a gradual transition into normal lobe cells. Similar pseu- dovitta can be observed in the pantropical Colole- jeunea platyneura (Spruce) A. Evans. Etymology. The variety is named after tfas locality, the world’s largest sandy island, rich in endemic taxa.
