substrate rocky (volcanic). Sagebrush scrub; Ericameria
nauseosa, Purshia tridentata, Symphoricarpos rotundifolius,
Tetradymia canescens, Ceanothus velutinus.
Common shrub to 1.1 m tall; disk corollas golden-yellow, style
branches shorter than stigmas, corolla lobes 0.5-1.25 mm.
