San Gabriel Mountains: mouth of Monte Cristo Canyon and
confluence with Mill Creek (Chilao Flat 7.5’ Q.: 34°20'41"N,
118°06'34"W, ±100m; T3N R12W). Alt.: 1098m/3600ft. Station
Fire bum area of 2009, canyon bottom, riparian surrounded by
chaparral and coastal sage scrub, dominants include Platanus
racemosa, Mimulus guttatus, Mellilotus albus, Datisca glomerata,
Ericameria pinifolia, Eriastrum densifolium ssp. mohavense, with
Cordylanthus rigidus, Pseudognaphalium leucocephalum,
Acmispon americanus, Polypogon viridis, Stipa lepida, Populus
trichocarpa, Hosackia oblongifolia, etc.
White flowers, common.
