San Gabriel Mountains: Mill Creek, upstream of Monte Cristo
Campground, between campground and the confluence with
Monte Cristo Creek (Chilao Flat 7.5’ Q.: 34°20’35"N,
118°06'37"W, ±100m; T3N R12W). Alt.: 1098m/3600ft. Station
Fire bum area of 2009, canyon bottom in riparian regrowth area,
surrounded by chaparral and coastal sage scrub. Domanants
include Artemisia douglasiana, Juncus rugulosus, Stachys albens,
Scirpus microcarpus, Urtica dioica, Mimulus cardinalis, Veronica
anagallis-aquatica, Eriodictyon trichocalyx.
Removed at ground level, common.
