Ada Hayden Herbarium Iowa State University Flora of Iowa Ranunculus testiculatus Crantz Franklin County: T92N R20W Section 20 NE4 SW4 SE4 NW4 UTM (NAD83, 15T): 480778 East, 4735160 North Beeds Lake State Park is owned by Iowa DNR and is approximately 1 mile west/northwest of Hampton. It is on the Des Mones Lobe. Ranunculus testiculatus is infrequent to locally common on mineral soil or mineral soil partially covered with crushed limestone on camp site parking areas. It also occurs at the interface of mineral soil/crushed limestone and mowed lawn next to the paved road in the campground. Plants have flower buds, flowers (the petals are pale yellow) and fmits. There are 1000’s of plants and the majority have light green fruits. Plants with flower buds or flowers are much less common. Ranunculus testiculatus is associated with Taraxacum officinale.
