Thomas E. Melchert	19 9 **
MEXICO:	STATE OF JALISCO
Bidens aurea	n =23 II
3.2 mi east of junction of Hwy. 35 (between Guadalajara and Chapala)
and the road to El Salto and Janacatlan (0.7 mi east of railroad). Plants in
standing water of roadside marshland. Note: Stems terete: Leaves
narrowly lanceolate (71 -277a), pinnatisect (71-277b), or broadly
lanceolate (i.e., like B. aurea, 71-277c). Achenes with barbed awns. On
whole this population appeared to be more like R. schaffneri (n = 11)
than other B. aurea populations (n = 23).
