Wilson Rosaceae Bird-sown arching shrubs 1.5 m tall, occasional escape from cultivation in area; leaves elliptic, shiny, 9-27 x 7-20 mm wide, mid-vein slightly sunken; 1-4 flowers/infl; buds red, flowers pink, 6.6-7 mm long; petals erect, pink to red, apex white, base dark red; 10-12 incurved stamens releasing pollen on stigmas; 2 styles; anthers bicolored: white proximally, pink distally; filaments red, some with dark red bases; sepals hairy, especially margins; thickets, campus of University of Washington, Seattle, elev. 30 m, 47° 39' N, 122° 19' W Coll.
