EDDY CO., east slope of Guadalupe Mts. about 48 km (by air) SW of Carlsbad at Sitting Bull Falls, Sec. 3, T24S, R22E, reached by NM Highway 137, canyon* limestone; major associates in region: Mimosa, Juniperus, Dasylirion, lechu- guilla; Juglans in canyon; elev. (baro.) 1340 m. Locally common on vertical E-facing wet limestone, forming dense colonies at upper part of falls, immediately associ- ated with Adiantum; flowers pale yellow, the backs of some petals on some flowers with a faint dull orange hue.
