CLINTON CO.: In second growth mixed hemlock-hardwood and boreal forest in thin soil on flat lying limestone, ca 4 km northwest of Sciota and 35 km northwest of Plattsburg. Elevation ca 100 m. Shrubs 1.5-2 m tall. Flowers (4) 5-10 in loosely erect to spreading or distally drooping racemes, the axis of the raceme appearing coarse,but actually soft and weak. Petals white.
