Amelanchier arborea (Michaux f.) Fern. var. arborea
On steep, north-facing, hardwood slope; along stream
flowing west into the Savannah River; mesic cove. Site
#1 (Lat. 34°01 ' 28"; Long. 82°35,28"), at Russell Dam
site just north of County Road 269; southwest of town
of Calhoun Falls, SC. Below the ^75-ft. contour
(full pool for the proposed Russell Lake). Area to be
impounded in mid-1980's.
