Located the most direct path between the two cities, starting at the beginning of road AC-040 (nearby the geographic center of Rio Branco), which connects with road BR-317. Using Google Maps - Satellite View, located the start of road AC-040 in Rio Branco. Used Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) to measure along road AC-040 toward Brasíleia to where it intersects with BR-317, which is at approximately 27.2281 km. Continued along BR-317 to total approximately 55 km. (55.00052 km.) from Rio Branco toward Brasíleia. Used Canadensys Lat/Long Crosshairs to find the coordinates. Used Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) again to find linear extent of Rio Branco by measuring from the approximate geographic center of the city to the farthest extent that may be considered Rio Branco.
