On west-facing, mesic slope overlooking floodplain
along Savannah River; hardwood Icanopy. Site #5 (Lat.
34°02,55M; Long. 82°36f39'1), about 2.5 miles south of
the S. C. 72 bridge over the Savannah River. Below
the 475-ft. contour (full pool for proposed Russell
Lake). Area to be impounded in mid-1980’s by U. S.
Army Corps of Engineers.
