Rocky hillsides and gravelly alluvial fans in arid valley. With Acacia, columnar cacti, Ephedra americana.

Description
Branched herb from soft-woody lowers stems, to 1 m. tall, this one in partial shade of shrubs and robust, often merely a few erect stems when growing in open sun. Leaves of this species consistently entire, the veins impressed above, prominent below. Inflorescence and flowers very reminiscent of sect. Petota. Flowers odorless; corolla light blue-violet, with yellow star; anthers yellow. Phenology of specimen: Flower, Fruit.
