Steep slopes. Remnant forest. Infrequent.

Description
Terrestrial shrub with branches to 0.75 m; floral bracts and bracteoles membranaceous, brown; calyx and pedicels pale green; corolla white at extreme base, bright red above, angled with rounded edges, white between lobes; pubescence at throat of corolla white; filaments white; anthers golden-orange. Ants living within the old, persistent calyces. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
