  • Description

    Large sedge to 2 m growing tufted in standing water. Leaf bases brown to very dark brown, stoloniferous from base with decumbent stolons covered with overlapping reduced leaves. Leaves with costa forming strong keel beneath, light green above, slightly glaucous green below. Cauline leaves with brown sheaths. Old male inflorescences brown, spreading. Young fruits yellow-green, female glumes yellow-green with brown margins. Phenology of specimen: Fertile.
