    Restinga vegetation on white pinkish sand. Vegetation somewhat disturbed. Trees up to 20-30 ft and some cacti.

  • Description

    Sedge to 2 m growing in sand and at edge of clump of shrubs in hollow. Stoloniferous; leaf-bases dark brown. Leaves unicostate, green and shiny above, glaucous beneath, leaf sheaths more yellowish and purple-tinged at nodes. Inflorescence in young fruit with nuts yellowish-green, with yellowish-green female glumes. Male flowers brown, post-anthesis. Phenology of specimen: Fertile.
