This variety seems to have smaller leaves and more curled pods and to bloom later than A* longifolia* "Its bark is used for tanning light skins in Queensland but being pnor in tannin it brings a low price$ fishermen often* tan their sails anc* nets with this bark and are well pleased with It, the articles being pliable after use* The wood is white, hard and tough* It is an excellent for binding coast sands*. (Maiden). The natives of Tasmania fcsed to roast the ripening pods of this wattle, pick out the seeds and eat them« It is believed that the seeds of other species of wattle were consumed in a similar Banner.
