    Near old stock ponds and oil well. Old fields and pastures reverting to prairie. By oil pad. Gravelly area.

  • Description

    Plants to 4 dm. tall, most plants leafless and with some branches dead, mostly with abundant yellow nodding fruits, many of the fruits drying up on the plant. Only a few plants that had been damaged earlier in the year have green leaves and are producing deep violet flowers. Plants very reminiscent (except for inflorescence structure) to S. melongena. Phenology of specimen: Flower, Fruit.
