Hilly. Rocky soils.
OBS:Palm solitary, acaulescent or with a short underground stem.
LEAVES 3-4 in crown, spirally arranged. Leaf sheath 3-6 cm long,
pseudopetiole (leaf sheath plus petiole) is 8-10 cm long, with the true
petiole 5-9.5 cm x 5-10 mm wide and 3-5 mm thick with a fibrous leaf
sheath, adaxially channeled and abaxially rounded. Leaf rachis 49-89 cm
long. 20-45 pairs of leaflets which are usually distributed evenly but
sometimes in clusters of 2 near the base along the rachis and leaflets held
in a slight to strong V. Often the longer leaf blades are slightly twisted.
Basal leaflets 21-35 x 0.1 am, middle leaflets 33-49 x 0.8-1 cm, and apical
leaflets 15-23 x 02-0.5 cm. Androgynous INFLORESCENCE is branched
to one order; prophyll not measured; peduncular bract with a total length
of 20-32 cm and the expanded or inflated part of the bract measuring 8-13
x 1.1-2 cm and with a 2.2-2.8 cm perimeter and a 1 mm thickness;
peduncle 12-23 cm long, 0.3-0.55 cm wide and no rachis, but the total
inflorescence from the basal primary flower to the apex measuring 4.5-9
cm. There is 1 rachilla or primary branch measuring 4.5-9 cm long. Fruits
not seen.
