Disturbed lowland tropical evergreen forest, on nearly level
land, now much disturbed and cleared for pastures.
Herb up to 60 cm. Leaves purple beneath. Hypanthium
green, calyx teeth light pink adaxially. Petals in bud white at
the base, pink apically, turning entirely white at anthesis.
Stamens white.
