Vietnam. Khanh Hoa province: Hon Heo, new road to dam, dry
forest, 12.454N, 109.218E, ca. 500 m elevation. 8th July 2014.
Calamus platyacanthoides Merr.
Stems clustered, 5 m tall, 5.5 cm diameter. Sheaths yellowish,
densely spiny; ocreas very short; petioles 1 cm long; rachises 200
cm long with 26 regularly arranged pinnae per side. Inflorescence
staminate, very short.
