  • Habitat

    shady and humid along the brooks, with the surrounding slopes dry, grassy, & windy with a few small shrubs. Boundary area between humid ridges to E and dry mountains to W. Shallow gulches near summit cut by springs and brooks along which grow dense small trees, a few Podocarpus and a few Alnus. Barnesia present. bark of shrub in creek gulch.
