Bolivia. Santa Cruz. Vallegrande Prov. West slope of peaks known as 'Cuesta Negra' at headwater area of Quebrada los Sotos, 6 km N of Cruce Pucara.

Habitat
shady and humid along the brooks, with the surrounding slopes dry, grassy, & windy with a few small shrubs. Boundary area between humid ridges to E and dry mountains to W. Shallow gulches near summit cut by springs and brooks along which grow dense small trees, a few Podocarpus and a few Alnus. Barnesia present. small cliff face.
