Dry prairie on south slope leading down from railway
track; limestone ballast and adjoining field within
railroad right-of-way. Single colony approx. 20’ X 100’.
Other prairie associates included big bluestem grass and
prairie dock.
Site discovered in 1984, destroyed some years later by
herbiciding and dense growth of buckthorn and
honeysuckle. These collections from plants cultivated
from this colony.
