Moist mineral soil with much bare ground and low sedges, mostly Carex
capillaris, C. scirpoidea, Trichophorum pumilum, small C. aquatilis, and
scattered small Salix and Dasiphora fruticosa.
Frequent, very locally forming a small, low “turf.”
