Habitat
Slope of high terrace 65 m NW from bank of Connecticut River, with possible fill from road construction, well-drained; thin wooded strip between road and bottom with Fraxinus nigra (several scattered along slope), Populus tremuloides, Betula populifolia, Ulmus americana, Picea ?rubens; shrubs, Lonicera ?morrowi, Rhus typhina, less Frangula alnus; on ground, Spiraea alba, Solidago rugosa, S. gigantea, Doellingeria umbellata, Bromus inermis, Rubus idaeus, Onoclea.

Description
Tree ca 10 cm dbh, 6 m tall; no dieback. Fruiting; the only tree of nigra seen in fruit during 10 days. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
