    Poorly drained flat / swale on high terrace of Israel River (450 m to NE); scattered Fraxinus nigra in woods dominated by Acer rubrum and Alnus ?rugosa (shrub); other woodies, Lonicera ?morrowi, Prunus virginiana and slightly higher, Abies, Tilia, F. americana; on ground, much Onoclea and ?Cinna (but clonal like puny Phalaris), also Solidago gigantea, S. rugosa, Osmunda cinnamomea, Symphoricarpus puniceus, Anemone canadensis, Clematis virginiana.

    Tree ca 20 cm dbh, 15 m tall; no dieback. No fruit.
