Swampy woods along small tributary of Dead River; Fraxinus nigra rare at edge of woods with Acer rubrum, Pinus strobus, Picea ?rubens, Betula populifolia; shrubs, Viburnum recognitum, Ilex ?verticillata, Sambucus ?canadensis; on ground, Phalaris, ?Cinna latifolia, Osmunda cinnamomea, Doellingeria umbellata.

Description
Small tree cut and sprouting 2 m from edge of road; 4 stems each 2-3 m tall; no dieback but ca 5% leaf damage. No fruit.
