Rocky lake shore with shrubby woods edge; Fraxinus pennsylvanica, Betula populifolia, Amorpha fruticosa, Frangula alnus, Populus tremuloides, Carya cordiformis, Acer rubrum etc. (diverse conditions grading into woods; see also Campbell 2016.08-16).

Description
Tree ca 5 cm dbh, 3 m tall; no dieback; relatively smooth in contrast to hairy trees along path (Campbell 2016.08-16). No fruit.
