    Edge of wooded swamp; only 1 tree seen, on mound formed by large Ilex verticillata; other woody species, Acer rubrum and Alnus ?rugosa both abundant; also Clethra alnifolia, Kalmia angustifolia, Fraxinus americana (upper level); on ground, Decodon, Lycopus ?virginicus, ?Cinna latifolia, Bidens, Cicuta, Polygonum arifolium.

    Tree 12 cm dbh, 10 m tall; <10% dieback. No fruit.
