Suriname. Sipaliwini. 3 km S (190°) from Kwamalasamutu village center,
access trail from confl. Peritu Eeku (Creek) and Sipaliwini R (1.0 ha
research plot KW4). 225 m 2°19'30"N 56°47'20"W. Non-flooded
(upland) mixed forest, emergents 30-40 m. Liana. Stems large, ca 20 cm
diam, irreg shape in x-s, often forming tangles on forest floor with sucker
shoots. Bark whitish-ylw, skin-like, subbark dull org, exudate absent.
Twigs quadrangular, grooved-flattened. Lvs w/ black dots. Infl axillary.
Common Name: sipun (Trio).
