    Common in a dense mat with Spahgnum spp., surrounding a small pool / 'mudding pit' (an area used for driving off-road vehicles through the mud). With Vaccinium oxycoccos, Spiranthes arcisepala, Symphyotrichum lateriflorum, Symphotrichum lanceolatum, and Nyssa sylvatica.
