Habitat
This island constructed in 1997. Woody plants installed then and still persistent are: Alnus glutinosa (mistaken for a native species), Betula nigra, Viburnum dentatum, Cephalanthus occidentalis and Ilex glabra. Rudbeckia laciniata was planted and is persistent and spontaneous.

Tree, sapling. Spontaneous. This is the third spontaneous sapling of this spcies seen here in Central Park.
