High forest, on pale brown sand
Shrub, ca. 1 m tall, stems brown, with many lenticels,
upper side of leaves slightly shiny, dark green, lower
side dull, dark green, secondary and tertiary veins
strongly impressed above, inflorescences flagelliform,
produced from the base of the stem, up to 1 m long,
rachis brown, apically green, pedicels whitish, flowers
with a sweet scent, sepals whitish green, outer side of
petals yellowish, inner side white, apex reflexed when
ripe, stamens yellow, stigmas white; very common
