Santiestevan, ca. 0.3 km E of Puente Eisenhower/Puente de la Amistad, on small dirt road ca. 0.2 km N from the Montero-Buena Vista highway (“carretera nueva a Cochabamba”). 17°19’09”S, 63°19’18”W. alt. 280 m. Flat. Disturbed areas with a few remaining trees of subtropical semi-deciduous forest, Hura crepitans, Ceiba speciosa, and Cecropia, Panicum maximum. Tree 10 m. tall, with swollen trunk, ca. 1 m. in diameter. Flowers abundant, showy, nearly odorless (3:50 P.M., cloudy bright); petals pink, the base at first yellow, then creamy white; anther column creamy white with pink zone in middle; style white; stigma dark red.
