Rocky soils. Type for this species.
OBSrPalm solitary', acaulescent or with a short rèclined trunk. Tallest
specimen to 80 cm tall. LEAVES 2-3(4) in crown, spirally arranged and
spreading. Leaf sheath ca. 8.5-15 cm long, pseudopetiole (leaf sheath
plus petiole) is 2.5-10 cm long, with the true petiole 0.5-3.5 cm x 4-7 mm
wide and 2-4 mm thick with a fibrous leaf sheath, adaxially channeled
and abaxially rounded. Leafrachis 21-40 cm long. 7-13 pairs of leaflets
which are distributed regularly but irregularly in clusters of 2-3 at the
I base. Basal leaflets 28-42 x 0.1-0.5 cm, middle leaflets 36-49 x 0.4-0.6
cm, and apical leaflets 24-38 x 0.1-0.5 an. Androgynous
INFLORESCENCE is a spike. Prophyll measured 7 x 2 cm. Peduncular
bract with a total length of 7.5-18 cm and the expanded or inflated part
I of the bract measuring 4.5-11 x 2-2.7 cm and with a 3-5 cm perimeter
and a 1-2.5 mm thickness; peduncle 2.5-9.5 cm or more long, 0.3-0.6 cm
I thick and no rachis, but the total inflorescence from the basai flower to
! the apex measuring 3-7.5 cm. There is 1 rachilla or primary branch
measuring 3-7.5 cm long.
