On steep S-facing slope and roadcut on sandstone, with
Juniperus virginiana, Quercus macrocarpa.
Continuous patch 10 x 10 m, perhaps all one individual,
prostrate except for ultimate ascending tips to 1 m. high.
Voucher for wood specimen, MADw; this stem at least
several meters long, 2.5 cm. in diameter, very slow
growing, 15 years old. “Berries” rather few, dark blue-
purple, much darker and duller than those of J. virginiana.
