terrestrial herb. Terrestrial herb to 5 m; inflorescences arising from base, peeling down from apex to reveal seeds enveloped in orange pulp. Use: leaves used to separate layers of ground manioc before pressing. N.V.: chila. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
