Hemiepiphytic climber, vine-like, the main stem ca. 3 cm dia., ascending ca. 5m, the branches extending ca. 1m from trunk. Floral bracts scarlet-pink, very showy. Petals tightly pseudocampanulate, lavender-tinted pink. Flowers 1 (2) per axil, pendulous, on long, reddish peduncles. Hypanthium pale yellowish-pink. Calyx tube and lobes reddish-pink, hemispheric. Stamens in a disorganized ring, free, filaments lavender-pink, anthers yellow. Style long-exserted, lavender. Seeds purple. Rare. Lat. 08 42.65N Long. 82 14.57W . coll. Darin S.
