Liana. Stem 3 m long, 0.6 cm thick. Leaves 12-14 per stem; sheath 16 cm long including a 4 cm long ocrea, closed, with to 1 cm long black/green spines; petiole 9 cm long, section round, with 0.5 cm long black/green spines; rachis 22 cm long, with 0.5 cm long black/green spines; lamina pinnate, 38 cm long, 23 cm wide, flat, glabrous; pinnae 3 per side; basal pinna 14 cm long, middle pinna 17 cm long, apical pinna 17 cm long. Inflorescence interfoliar; peduncular bract 35 cm long, inserted 5 cm from base, brown, papery; peduncle 23 cm long, 0.1 cm wide; rachis 10 cm long, 0.1 cm wide; rachillae 4,4-7 cm long.
