Edge of grassy prairie maintained by fire and woods of
Quercus, Carya.
Shrub 3 m. tall, 4.5 cm. in diameter. Voucher for wood
specimen, MADw. Inflorescence nodding, deep purple-red,
the fruits with greasy feel. With different aspect in
periodically burned grassland where forming clones 1.2 m.
tall with slender stems.
