Suriname. Sipaliwini. 1-1.5 km SW from Kwamalasamutu village center
(farm fallows around Amesina's family compound). 216 m 2°20'43"N
56°47'48"W. Non-flooded, disturbed, secondary forest in gardens or along
trails, open sun. Tree, 20 m x 35 cm. Twigs brown w/ white lenticels.
Young growth densely pubescent, ochre-colored. Lvs matte-green below
w/ yellow veins (not white). Infl rachis and flowers brownish-red to
ochre. Common Name: paripo (Trio).
