21 BREADFRUIT OF THE PACIFIC ISLANDS____„ Dugdug MORACEAE Artocarpus Trecul Marianas Islands Guam Fruits small, asymmetrical, lumpy. Dark green, pebbly with hard raised or pyramidal sections flattened on top. Very yellow flesh with large seeds enclosed by the tough, fleshy, rubbery perianth. Male inflorescence 16x4 cm, with profuse pollen. Small leaves, entire or only one lobe when mature. Younger leaves have 2-3 pairs of shallow to moderately dissected lobes on upper 1/2-1/3rd. Soft, dull, smooth blade with yellow veins. No hairs on upper veins. Profuse appressed reddish hairs on lower veins. Tree -6 m. Diane Ragone 309 11 July 1987 13.27N 144.43E 20melev.
