Numerous shrubs in woods
between Montgomery Conifer
collection aiid Bronx River, just
below the bridge over the Bronx
River near the Snuff Mill. Uncertain
if planted or naturalized in this area.
Shrubs to 2 m. tall. Pith seems to be
solid at some nodes and not at others.
The pith can be hollow in one part of a twig and chambered
in another part; sometimes it is chambered immediately
adjacent to the solid node and then hollow elsewhere.
Flowers odorless, bright yellow.
